BRANDING – EDITORIAL DESIGN

 

The development of a visual identity for the French book collection ‘Que sais-je’. Launched in 1941, the series aims to provide accessible introductions to various fields of study. With over 3,900 titles published to date, the design needed to be infinitely adaptable. The 627-rounds grid offers as many possibilities as there are colors and patterns.

There are two types of design: illustrative and abstract. The illustrative design depicts elements related to the field of study, making it more suitable for subjects like politics, geography, economics, and science. In contrast, the abstract design focuses on colors and forms, often used for books on psychology, emotions and introspection.
